print.

this is somewhat old, from fall 07 for visual communications.
the assignment was to create a cover for the print magazine student cover contest, with the theme "design culture youth". the idea for my cover was inspired by coloring books.
as we get older and make the transition from children to young adults, we start to find ourselves and our own personalities, which is what i tried to represent with the figures coloring themselves in. i'm pretty happy with the end result.

popular.

as of may 10th 2008, 11:10 pm, the following image is my most viewed photo on flickr. i took it in my sophomore year of high school with my chinon cm-3. i developed it myself, and i just scanned the print in.

pretty fucking sweet.

multiples.

i recently bought a bunch of expired polaroid izone film off of ebay, both for izone 200 and izone pocket.  and i realized that you can take multiple exposures with izones.

my favorites are the portraits that are contrasted with patterns or textures.  ive come to the conclusion that i absolutely love izone film, and am quite sad that its no longer manufactured. so if you have any lying around, feel free to send it my way. =)

bad religion.

for my communications imaging II class, i was assigned a magazine assignment, where i had to pick an existing magazine and design a cover page and spread for that magazine, based on a story idea that i came up with.   my story was on religious fashion, and the magazine that i chose was genre, a gay lifestyle magazine.  i wanted to give the magazine a makeover, giving it a more gritty underground feel, as opposed to its current typical flashy look.  im pretty happy with the way the cover came out, though i like the individual pictures a lot better than the actual inside spread.

and totally unrelated, doesnt this remind you of the ring?

scary, right?

survey.

as a communications design major (graphic design, illustration, advertising/art direction), im required to participate in "survey", which is kind of the equivalent of a final.  in survey, every comd major has to exhibit at least 3 pieces from each of their comd courses. at first, i thought my space was crap, but it ended up turning out pretty awesome.  this semester, i put a lot more effort into my survey display, and was so much more prepared for it this time around.

sexy, right?

quiz for the day: what does 2 hours of sleep (on top of barely any sleep the whole week prior) do to you? it makes you look like a drugged out 14 year old, apparently.

sexy, right?
